About The Position

This position is for an Occupational Therapist at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville, WI. The role involves evaluating and treating patients who have physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits. Key responsibilities include assessing a patient's ability to perform independent living skills safely and effectively, designing and implementing appropriate plans of care, and documenting patient progress. The therapist will also monitor and modify care plans as needed, seek consultation when necessary, and educate patients and their families/caregivers about patient deficits. Additionally, the role includes planning and assisting with patient discharge from therapy services, providing information on adaptive equipment and support programs, and overseeing care provided by designated individuals in accordance with established regulations and practice standards. The position requires maintaining a constant state of alertness and working in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, or related area as required to obtain licensure in state of practice
  • No experience required
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment.
  • Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
  • Occupational Therapist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) (for Illinois)
  • Occupational Therapist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration (for Missouri)
  • Occupational Therapist - Oklahoma Medical Board (for Oklahoma)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (for Wisconsin)

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
  • Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
  • Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
  • Documents findings of patient progress.
  • Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
  • Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Oversees the care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
