About The Position

The Per Diem Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients and facilitating rehabilitation and independence. Develops and designs treatment plans for physically, mentally and/or emotionally disabled patients. Occupational Therapists enable, enhance and improve patients ability to gain independent, productive daily living and working environments.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Occupational Therapist license in New York State.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic principles and practices in occupational therapy.
  • Familiarity with various assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in a specific specialty area (e.g., neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics)
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
