Lima Care Community is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join their team. This role involves planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing occupational therapy services, programs, and activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with staff from related departments, develop and maintain occupational therapy standards, and participate in discharge planning and resident care plan development. This position assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the occupational therapy department in conjunction with the Director of Rehabilitation. Key responsibilities include maintaining treatment records, resident files, and progress notes, ensuring accurate billing, performing administrative duties, writing appropriate orders, and supervising occupational therapy assistants. Therapy services may also be administered via Telehealth. The role requires reviewing requests for services, interviewing residents, selecting therapeutic activities, preparing residents for treatment, and instructing and supervising residents during therapy. The Occupational Therapist will also participate in staff development, in-service education, and on-the-job training, while adhering to safety and sanitation standards, and managing department equipment and supplies efficiently. Resident rights and HIPAA compliance are paramount, and the therapist must report medical concerns and changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
