About The Position

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for their Outpatient Rehabilitation department at Saline Memorial Hospital. This role is crucial in helping individuals rebuild their lives and thrive in their daily environments. The ideal candidate will find purpose in personal connection, evidence-based care, and collaborative teamwork. The position involves evaluating patients' ability to perform daily tasks, creating personalized care plans, delivering hands-on treatment, tracking patient progress, and educating patients and caregivers. The OT will also support discharge planning, recommend adaptive equipment, connect patients with community resources, and provide supervision to OT assistants and techs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Required State Licensure for Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' ability to safely perform daily tasks and create personalized care plans tailored to their goals and challenges.
  • Deliver hands-on treatment using therapeutic techniques and adaptive modalities that promote strength, coordination, and independence.
  • Track and document each patient’s journey through measurable outcomes and observational insights.
  • Continuously reassess and adjust treatment plans, consulting with colleagues when needed to ensure optimal care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on functional deficits and provide practical tools and techniques for success at home and beyond.
  • Support discharge planning by recommending adaptive equipment and connecting patients with helpful community resources.
  • Provide compassionate supervision and delegation to OT assistants and techs, ensuring care meets professional and regulatory standards.
