School Occupational Therapist (K-6)
About The Position
AnthroMed Education is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a K–6 school-based setting in Indianapolis for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time opportunity for an OT who enjoys working in an elementary school environment and collaborating with educators and other related service providers to help students access and participate successfully in their educational programs. The school serves a general K–6 student population without specialized life skills or special program classrooms, providing an opportunity to work with a broad range of students and functional needs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Indiana Occupational Therapy License or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students.
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers.
- Passion for helping students develop the functional skills they need to participate successfully in school.
Nice To Haves
- School-based experience preferred but not required.
- New graduate OTs are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized OT goals and treatment plans.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services aligned with students' IEPs.
- Address areas such as fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, handwriting, sensory processing, coordination, and functional classroom participation.
- Consult with teachers and school staff to develop strategies that support student independence and access to the classroom.
- Adapt materials, equipment, and classroom environments as needed.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on student needs and data.
- Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain accurate treatment notes, progress reports, evaluations, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with families and educational team members to promote carryover of skills across settings.
