About The Position

Lifemark is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join their Customised Recovery Program. This role is crucial in enhancing the health and well-being of clients by developing individualized treatment plans with a focus on Return to Work. The position is within a progressive and collaborative atmosphere at the Lifemark Physiotherapy Nordel Way Clinic, emphasizing diversity and inclusion. This is a full-time permanent role ideal for an OT who enjoys a fast pace and working with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted.
Proficiency in computer skills.

Nice To Haves

1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required.
In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check.
In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months).
Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
Bilingualism - French and English are assets.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized treatment plans to address the specific needs of each client in the program with a focus on Return to Work.
Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment.
Create tailored, graded return-to-work plans with specific, measurable goals that gradually increase activity and build tolerance.
Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
Conduct Occupational Health screenings to evaluate an employee's physical, cognitive, and functional capacity to ensure they can safely perform job duties.
Identify appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations.
Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
Provide education to the client and employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment.
Exhibit sound professional judgment.
