About The Position

Lifemark is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join their team at the Meadowlark Centre. In this role, you will focus on helping individuals regain function by teaching strategies to manage pain and participate in daily life, particularly for those with Chronic Pain and Complex Conditions. The approach emphasizes managing physical and psychological impacts through pacing, energy conservation, activity modification (ergonomics, assistive devices), and integrating coping skills (mindfulness, psychotherapy), rather than solely focusing on pain elimination. Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities, and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required.
  • In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check.
  • In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months).
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
  • Bilingualism - French and English are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, and specialized seating and positioning assessments.
  • Identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations.
  • Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs, and adaptive aids, as well as ongoing education to clients and families to improve function, independence, and safety.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment.
