About The Position

This is a full-time Occupational Therapist position in Acute Care Rehabilitation at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, located in High Point, North Carolina. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, and supervision of support staff. The therapist will maintain accurate documentation, meet productivity standards, and participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency. Additionally, the position involves promoting professional development, conducting in-service training, and staying informed about changes in the profession. Effective communication with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers is essential. The role also requires demonstrating age/developmentally specific knowledge and skills in patient care.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree from accredited occupational therapy school.
• Current licensure in the state of applicable state.
• CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and responds to changes in the patient's physiologic state.

• Supervises support staff assisting with patient care by providing direction and feedback.
• Maintains accurate documentation.
• Completes written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges and departmental statistics, and ICD-10 codes as appropriate.
• Maintains patient records in a systematic order and documentation is legible.
• Ensures that documentation is legible.
• Meets department financial and productivity standards.
• Understands the budgeted expectation.

• Adjusts individual schedules to meet the needs of the patient and department.
