About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY. This position involves performing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and establishing measurable rehabilitation goals. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams, patient and family education, and accurate clinical documentation. Additionally, participation in various healthcare meetings and ensuring proper equipment maintenance are key responsibilities. The role also includes contributing to staff education and departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy required
  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or eligibility for licensure required
  • Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience required
  • Acute Care experience required (Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation experience alone does not qualify)
  • Outpatient Occupational Therapy experience required
  • Strong evaluation, treatment planning, and patient education skills
  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Neuro Rehabilitation experience preferred
  • Concussion Management experience in an outpatient setting preferred
  • Experience working in a hospital-based rehabilitation environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
  • Establish measurable rehabilitation goals and monitor patient progress
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, recovery strategies, and home programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records
  • Participate in clinics, patient rounds, case conferences, and care planning meetings
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of therapy equipment and supplies
  • Contribute to staff education and departmental quality improvement initiatives
