This position involves assessing, planning, and implementing treatment programs for patients in accordance with established principles and practices of Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team and oversee the work of support personnel. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients with physical injuries, birth defects, emotional, or functional problems that affect their ability to perform occupational tasks. The therapist will plan and execute appropriate treatment programs, apply diagnostic tests, and develop individualized goals with patient input. The role requires performing complex treatments, directing patients in therapeutic regimens, delegating tasks to supportive personnel, and continuously evaluating and modifying treatment plans. Comprehensive documentation, effective communication with medical staff, participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, and providing in-services are essential. The therapist is also expected to complete continuous training, adhere to departmental policies, and assist in maintaining equipment and supplies.
