The Occupational Therapist will screen and evaluate students to determine eligibility for school-based occupational therapy services. This role involves developing and writing comprehensive evaluation reports, re-evaluation reports, and IEPs, ensuring compliance with timelines. The therapist will schedule students for services, implement individual, group, classroom, and consultative services using best practices and evidence-based research. Consultation with educational staff, other therapists, and parents regarding occupational therapy needs is a key responsibility. The position requires maintaining working student files, completing all documentation within required timelines, and preparing and completing ACCESS billing for eligible students. Progress monitoring, data collection, and submission of treatment schedules are also part of the role. Ensuring student confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA/FERPA regulations and AIU policy is critical. Familiarity with email, word documents, excel, and online IEP writing systems is necessary. The therapist will advise AIU administrative staff on caseload trends and student concerns, and provide supervision to occupational therapy assistants. Attendance at staff meetings, in-services, and committee service are also required.
