The Occupational Therapist examines, evaluates, diagnoses, plans and provides quality therapy treatments that meet patient individual needs and are medically prescribed and necessary using the standards of professional practice. This role requires exercising independent judgment for clinical decision-making and preparing all documentation required to support all aspects of patient care provided. The Occupational Therapist participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The position requires the ability to speak and read English at a level sufficient to satisfactorily perform essential functions. Knowledge of standard office equipment (calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail) are necessary. Proficient Windows computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse usage for selecting items, drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying, and similar operations, are required upon employment or within the first two weeks. The therapist performs other assigned duties and adheres to Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards, while carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
