About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Centennial - Plano, TX is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an acute care PRN position. This role requires a high level of critical thinking and interpersonal skills to provide an exceptional patient experience. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate assigned patients, develop, implement, and modify treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. They will also be responsible for delegating and directing discipline-specific therapy services, designing functional treatment programs for community reintegration, and serving as an educator for patients, families, students, and colleagues. Other professional duties related to patient care, service development, and program delivery are also included.

Requirements

Acute Care and orthopedic experience required
Must have high level of critical thinking and interpersonal skills for exceptional patient experience.
Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Occupational Therapist required.
Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
