About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehabilitation Team in an acute inpatient hospital setting. This role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute care therapy, functional mobility training, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This position offers weekday scheduling with additional outpatient therapy opportunities, supporting a dynamic and flexible work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate
Nice To Haves
- National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification, AOTA and OTAC preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations in an acute inpatient setting to assess functional limitations and rehabilitation needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on ADLs, mobility, strength, and independence
- Provide hands-on therapy interventions including neurological rehab, orthopedic recovery, and functional training
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case management, and interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies
- Document patient progress, goals, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and EMR requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control policies, and quality care initiatives
