About The Position
Senior LIFE is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a full-time position in Greensburg, PA. Senior LIFE is a unique home and community-based program funded by Medicare and Medicaid, offering comprehensive healthcare services to seniors living in the community. The program enables seniors to stay in their homes while receiving necessary care. Senior LIFE staff are dedicated to fulfilling the program's mission by collaborating with seniors, promoting open communication, shared decision-making, and providing excellent care and services.
Requirements
- Licensed occupational therapists in Pennsylvania
- Committed to participating in the necessary classes/workshops to retain his/her license
- At least one year of experience as an OT, specifically working with an elderly population
- Demonstrate clinical competency as an OT
- Strong background as an OT
- Desire to provide meaningful service to a diverse elderly population
- Versatile, creative critical thinkers
- Ability to thrive in a team-first environment
- Topnotch communication skills
- Topnotch managerial skills
Nice To Haves
- Additional management work in rehabilitation or a related medical/social field
Responsibilities
- Developing occupational treatment plans for all new and existing members, beginning with comprehensive assessments and evaluations and in-depth reviews of overarching Plans of Care
- Documenting all visits, care activities and changes to member status, to ensure cohesiveness across various departments and interdisciplinary personnel
- Carrying out periodic assessments to best enhance and expand care plans
- Evaluating members’ home environments to minimize hazards, and provide additional in-home support, as needed
- Educating LIFE Center staff and member families to ensure OT treatment plans are executed when members are in and out of the center
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and keep all participants informed as to pertinent OT changes as they relate to members’ medical, social or emotional care
- Working in tandem with the dietary staff to develop adaptive feeding techniques and best practices for members, as needed
