Requirements

  • Master of Science, Occupational Therapy.
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an Occupational Therapy role.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising and communicating with all stakeholders (individually, in teams, and agency-wide).
  • Facilitate problem–solving within the team context regarding program development and individual treatment planning.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (i.e., Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Valid G level driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle
  • 2 Step TB test
  • Broad Record Check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children, youth and families, an asset.
  • Experience working with case management software (i.e., EMHWare), is an asset.
  • Experience working with eating disorders, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized assessment and intervention as well as program planning/implementation, consultation, and education as part of an interdisciplinary team and with families.
  • Consult with the health care individuals involved, to define the appropriate plan of action of the specific individuals’ case.
  • Assess individuals and on an ongoing basis assist in developing treatment care plans.
  • Ensure that Individuals are involved in identified therapeutic programs, which meet specified goals.
  • Provide on-going analysis of individual's progress towards identified goals.
  • Documents pertinent information as it relates to the delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Recognizes variations in the continuum of health by implementing Occupational Therapy interventions, which promote, maintain, and restore health, prevent disease and injury and provide comfort.
  • Ensures that the practice of Occupational Therapy is conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics as stipulated by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapist, and all provincial regulatory bodies.
  • Understands and complies with the legal requirements of licensure, legislation, scope of practice, and policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
