About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation (BSWIR) in Dallas is opening a unique position within its therapy continuum. The Dallas campus features a 92-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, a Day Neuro program, a Day Spinal Cord Injury (SCI Max) program, and a 21-bed neuro transitional program. They are seeking PRN therapists who are willing to be cross-trained in all three locations and available to work a minimum of one day per month, either on a weekend or weekday. Therapists with experience in neurological rehabilitation or spinal cord injury are preferred, but candidates with at least one year of experience are welcome. Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation or spinal cord injury.
  • At least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction.
  • Responsible for delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
  • Ensures the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate an effective return to community activities.
  • Serves as an educator for patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
  • Performs other professional duties related to patient care, the development of discipline-specific therapy services, and program delivery design.
