About The Position

Sheppard Pratt School in Rockville is a nonpublic special education day school serving students ages 5-21 (grades K-12) with a range of needs including autism, development delay, emotional disability, multiple disabilities, other health impairments, specific learning disability, and speech or language impairments. Our small class sizes and individualized instruction ensure that students receive the attention and support they need to succeed academically and emotionally. Our team provides a supportive and structured environment that integrates specialized academic instruction, counseling, transition services, and behavioral modification tailored to each student’s unique needs.

Requirements

Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
Active Maryland State Occupational Therapy License.
Current knowledge of OT theory.

Responsibilities

Perform a full range of occupational therapy (OT) services according to professional standards.
Identify, assess, diagnose, and treat students to develop individualized therapy plans.
Promote availability for learning, and physical and mental health well-being.
Oversee and support the development and delivery of related staff training programs.
Meet with parents/caregivers, school representatives, and other stakeholders as needed to discuss student progress and therapy plans.
Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
