Occupational Therapist (OT) - Inpatient Rehabilitation/Acute Therapy (Weekends)
About The Position
Signet Health is seeking a full-time, weekend Occupational Therapist for the 15-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. This is a hospital position with White River Health. The position offers a highly competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. The Occupational Therapist provides evidence-based patient assessment and treatment, documents findings and charges in the electronic medical record, monitors patient progress, and maintains treatment records and schedules. The role also includes supervising and educating Occupational Therapy Assistants, supporting patient safety, and contributing to the effective operation of the Rehab Therapy Department.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or OTD degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved school.
- Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Arkansas.
- Successful completion of an accredited college program in Occupational Therapy, including clinical experience.
- Up-to-date CPR certification.
- Competence in leadership skills, rehabilitation principles, and procedures.
- Skills and knowledge necessary to care for patients according to their age-specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Initiate patient care through evidence-based assessment and document findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Submit accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR.
- Maintain treatment records, statistical data, and schedules for patients referred for treatment.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans or recommend referrals as needed.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in patient care and provide education to enhance their clinical skills.
- Continuously observe department equipment for hazards to ensure patient safety.
- Promote effective interpersonal relationships and a positive hospital image through professional behavior.
- Contribute to the productivity and efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department.
- Maintain professional knowledge, licensing, and skills, and promote understanding of occupational therapy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
