About The Position

Symbria is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for their Internal Travel Team. This is a full-time position offering the benefits of a full-time employee, including health insurance, PTO, and continuing education. Travel assignments can be located anywhere within Symbria's organization, which operates in 10 states. A monthly travel stipend will be provided in addition to a competitive salary. Assignments are based on 13-week internal contracts, with options to extend or be placed at another Symbria location. Continuous assignments are guaranteed for one year, after which relocation assistance may be available or the option to continue as part of the internal travel team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
  • A valid registered license is required for Symbria's operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state.
  • If using a compact license, must have a full license in your state of residence.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care, long-term care and/or rehabilitation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate physician’s referral and patient’s medical record to determine Occupational Therapy program required.
  • Evaluate each patient’s current level of functioning using approved evaluation techniques, tests and observations, and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluations.
  • Administer a prescribed Occupational Therapy program to restore and maintain maximum function and prevent disability using a range of therapeutic modalities.
  • Coordinate occupational therapy services with Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology and the Nursing department.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in the patient chart, and re-evaluate patient progress and revise treatment programs when necessary.
  • Communicate Physical Therapy philosophy and treatment approaches and goals to patients, their families and other members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Supervise Symbria Rehab Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, monitor productivity and staffing needs within the community.
  • Complete all required clinical and billing documentation as indicated and submit in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to Symbria Rehab’s mission, Code of Conduct, and policies and procedures.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Full utilization of technology provided to document and enhance client care.
  • Adhere to terms and conditions of travel assignment contract.
  • Available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments.
  • Any and all duties as assigned.
