The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work in the Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation setting. This part-time position requires a minimum of 2 shifts per month, with one of those shifts being a weekend day, and participation in holiday rotation. The role involves evaluating patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on daily living activities. The OT will establish and implement individualized treatment plans, provide and/or fabricate assistive devices and splints, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Responsibilities also include planning for patient discharge, coordinating with stakeholders, completing documentation, managing statistics and billing, and adhering to insurance guidelines. The position requires the application of various manual techniques, patient positioning, transferring, and transporting duties, as well as demonstrating skill in the use of modalities and exercise equipment. Promoting patient safety, participating in performance improvement activities, managing caseloads, and pursuing professional growth are also key aspects of the role. The OT may supervise occupational therapy assistants, extenders, and students.
