About The Position

Vanderbilt Health Clarksville Hospital is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This role offers the opportunity to provide skilled care across Acute Care and, as needed, Inpatient Rehabilitation, helping patients regain function and independence during critical stages of recovery. Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Tennessee (or eligible for Tennessee licensure).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of occupational therapy experience required.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • LIC-Occupational Therapy License - Licensure-Others

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions for patients with a variety of medical, surgical, neurological, orthopedic, and complex health conditions.
  • Support patient care primarily in the Acute Care setting, with the opportunity to assist in Inpatient Rehabilitation as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, equipment recommendations, and discharge planning.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to support optimal functional outcomes.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Provides activity therapy assessments and occupational therapy assessments, written treatment and discharge plans.
  • Attends and participates in designated treatment team meetings.
  • Plans and conducts daily activity therapy group sessions and programs, with individual therapy sessions as needed.
  • Completes appropriate documentation.
  • Participates in program Performance Improvement process.
