Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s or Doctorate preferred)
Active Ohio Occupational Therapist license in good standing
Commitment to ongoing continuing education
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving ability
Ability to interpret and apply clinical, regulatory, and policy guidelines
Excellent communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Proficiency with electronic medical records (Casamba, PointClickCare, or similar systems)
A positive, team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

Complete patient evaluations within 24 hours (or one business day) of referral
Develop and implement individualized, goal-driven treatment plans
Provide hands-on therapy aligned with physician directives
Monitor progress and adjust care to maximize outcomes
Prepare patients and families for safe, confident discharge
Supervise and mentor Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students
Partner with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
Provide in-service training and support to staff
Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with state practice acts and payer guidelines
Facilitate caregiver education and maintenance programs
Recommend and coordinate durable medical equipment (braces, walkers, canes, adaptive devices, etc.)
Ensure therapy equipment remains safe and operational
