About The Position

Lifemark Keefer Place, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation centre situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver. It is easily accessible by public transit and surrounded by amenities. The clinic has been serving the community for over 20 years and has a large interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive rehabilitation services, with recognized expertise in occupational rehabilitation, mental health services, and concussion care. The team includes an industry-leading vestibular therapist and specialized concussion clinicians. They support a diverse client population through WorkSafeBC, ICBC, LTD, PCVRS, and employer-funded programs. Lifemark is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team, contributing to a collaborative care environment focused on helping clients achieve meaningful functional outcomes and return to activities that matter most to them.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities, and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Clinical experience is a valuable asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics/or return to work.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in concussion management is considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments.
  • Identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations.
  • Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to the Ministry of Health, insurance agencies, and other funding parties.
  • Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides, as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence, and safety.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment findings and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment.
