About The Position

Works as an integral member of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, helping patients recover from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex orthopedic conditions, and other medically complex diagnoses that impact functional independence. Responsible for evaluating, planning, coordinating, and delivering individualized therapeutic interventions designed to restore or enhance activities of daily living, vocational skills, homemaking abilities, and overall quality of life. Builds trust and collaboration with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members through comprehensive assessments, compassionate care, effective communication, and patient-centered treatment planning. Monitors patient progress and adjusts interventions to support optimal outcomes while promoting safety, independence, and confidence throughout the rehabilitation journey. Maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, organizational policies, and professional standards to ensure safe, high-quality care and protection of patient privacy. Provides clinical guidance and supervision to occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation aides and serves as a clinical instructor and mentor for occupational therapy students, fostering professional growth and excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Occupational Therapist certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 2 years experience as Occupational Therapist.
  • Critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
  • Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.
  • Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.
