About The Position

Wendell Foster is seeking a compassionate and energetic Occupational Therapist to join our Outpatient Services team. As an Occupational Therapist at Wendell Foster, you'll help children and adults with disabilities build independence, develop essential life skills, and achieve meaningful goals through individualized therapy, adaptive equipment, and collaborative care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current Kentucky Occupational Therapist license in good standing, as required by the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Occupational Therapy
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification (training provided)
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, treatment techniques, and adaptive equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn specialized software
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with individuals, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Passion for serving individuals with disabilities in a person-centered environment

Nice To Haves

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
  • Provide occupational therapy services that promote independence in daily living, work, leisure, and community participation
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, person-centered care
  • Educate and train families, caregivers, and staff to support successful outcomes
  • Design, fabricate, and recommend adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Maintain accurate documentation, complete billing requirements, and meet productivity standards
  • Provide clinical supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and students, as assigned
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and departmental programs
  • Serve as a liaison with families, community partners, and other service providers to promote occupational therapy services
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Wendell Foster's mission
