About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapist (OT) for their Acute NICU unit. This position is Monday - Friday. Baylor University Medical Center is a distinguished teaching hospital recognized nationally, offering multiple clinical specialties including Level 1 trauma services, transplantation, Level III NICU, LVAD implantation, Stroke Center, and a dedicated cancer hospital. Therapists have opportunities to rotate positions and expand their treatment skills across various diagnoses and develop clinical specializations. BSWIR at BUMC embraces the challenges of acute care, supporting patient journeys from trauma, myocardial infarction, stroke, organ transplant, or intensive care stays. They provide a robust professional support and development system, including a New Graduate Program, Advanced Practice Mentoring, Board Certification, and clinical instructor preparation.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of full-time neonatal intensive care unit experience.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Occupational Therapist required.
- Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
- Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
- Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
- Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
- Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
