The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats the patients abilities to perform in the areas of occupation including activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, education, work, play, leisure and social participation. The Occupational Therapist provides goal-directed, activity oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in the aforementioned areas of occupation. The Occupational Therapist provides for continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family or support system; and, provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance.
