About The Position

Ochsner Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture/partnership/affiliation with Select Medical, is hiring an Occupational Therapist in New Orleans, Louisiana. This full-time role is based in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital that provides compassionate care for people facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. Compensation is $73,008 to $108,000 based on years of experience, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. The role also includes directing discipline-specific therapy services, educating patients and others, and carrying out other professional duties related to patient care and therapy service delivery.

Requirements

Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for state licensure.
Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
Design functional treatment programs that support patients’ effective return to community activities.
Educate patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and program delivery.
