About The Position

Under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Outpatient Services, the Occupational Therapist is responsible and accountable for providing occupational therapy services to children, adolescents and their families, carrying out interventions to help improve behavioral health and functioning. Duties include patient evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, individual and group intervention implementation, and discharge transition support for Ohana patients across all levels of care. The Occupational Therapist will assist in program development within the Ohana Clinical Team across multiple service levels, and may provide educational presentations to families, staff, interns, and community members/services. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad clinical knowledge. The Occupational Therapist is expected to maintain a productivity standard of at least 25 patient-facing billable hours per week. Must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, curiosity, humor and humility. Requirements

  • Must have previous exposure and/or knowledge of children/adolescents mental health treatment within OT, with preference in utilizing sensory processing, social-emotional learning, and/or executive functioning within therapeutic interventions.
  • Accredited program graduation as necessary to obtain a CA occupational therapy licensure through NBCOT.
  • Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
  • Must be licensed by the Occupational Therapy Board of California
  • Certification through NBCOT and maintain active status.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required.
  • Assault crisis de-escalation training is required and must be completed within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 Professional staff authorization yearly.
  • Live Scan fingerprint clearance required by the Department of Healthcare Services is a job requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with CBT and DBT integration preferred.
  • Preference for additional training within sensory integration, executive functioning and/or social skills preferred.
