About The Position

This position uses purposeful activities and interventions to achieve functional outcomes and maximize the independence and health maintenance of individuals limited by physical injury or illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, or an adverse environmental condition. The therapist assesses patients, identifies illness acuity, plans treatment programs, and implements or directs those programs.

Requirements

• Florida Occupational Therapist license (FL OT).

Nice To Haves

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the practitioner's referral.
• Provide the initial occupational therapy assessment of the patient.
• Identify and document precautions, special problems, and contraindications.
• Develop a treatment plan with long- and short-term goals.
• Implement or direct implementation of the treatment plan.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation and billing.
• Delegate appropriate tasks.
• Direct and supervise support staff in a manner appropriate to each patient's needs.
• Reassess patients in relation to goals and modify the treatment plan when necessary.
• Collaborate with members of the health care team as appropriate.
• Assess the patient, identify the level of illness acuity, plan the treatment program, and implement or direct the program.
