About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT)- Outpatient for a 13-week travel assignment in Marshall, MI. This position involves providing medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment programs to patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. The OT will develop treatment plans, establish functional goals, communicate with physicians and case managers, determine discharge plans, and monitor clinic support staff. The role also includes documenting treatments, maintaining compliance with regulations, establishing professional relationships with referral sources, promoting health and wellness, accompanying patients to physician visits, and shadowing physicians.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1+ years OT Adult/Peds experience
  • TRAVELER MUST HAVE OUTPATIENT EXPERIENCE
  • Must have Michigan OT License
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills , professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Traveler must have a clean driving record and their own insurable vehicle for this need

Responsibilities

  • Plans and administers medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.
  • Provide patient care by developing a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
  • Interpret prescriptions, perform an initial evaluation, and establish a treatment plan with functional goals updating them throughout the continuum of care.
  • Periodic and timely written communication to physicians and/or case managers.
  • Determine appropriate discharge management and patient follow-up.
  • Monitor clinic support staff with patient care and administrative assistance.
  • Responsible for documenting all treatment in patient charts and completing all written communications in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all HIPAA, PHI and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Responsible for continuing to establish and develop professional relationships with valued referral sources.
  • Promote health and wellness in the professional and community organizations.
  • Accompany patients to their physician visits.
  • Shadowing physicians in clinic and/or surgery.
