About The Position

NovaCare in Odenton, Maryland, is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists (OT) to deliver exceptional care in our outpatient orthopedic center. Our mission is to help patients return to the activities they love, whether that’s sports, work, or daily life. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least one year of outpatient experience. We will also consider recent graduates with outpatient fieldwork experience. NovaCare Odenton offers a diverse caseload focusing on orthopedics, neuro, and upper extremity. Our collaborative clinical team provides services in neurology & vestibular rehab, concussion management, amputee care, oncology & lymphedema, and industrial rehab (FCEs & POETs). Flexible hours are available for 2-3 days per week, with 6-8 steady hours offered weekly (3P-7P or 4P-8P). Additional coverage may be available in nearby centers for those seeking more hours.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school for occupational therapy
State Occupational Therapist license (or license eligible)
CPR certification
Valid state driver’s license

Nice To Haves

At least one year of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics is preferred
Experience with orthopedic, neuro, and upper extremity diagnoses is preferred
CHT certification not required

Responsibilities

Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
Enhance, develop and expand relationships with referral sources and maintain a positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how OTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
Supervise and delegate occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.
