About The Position

Word Therapy, LLC is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver occupational therapy services within Sarasota County Schools. This role offers the chance for an OT passionate about working with children to enjoy the flexibility and independence of a 1099 contractor position, while receiving support from an established pediatric therapy company. The position involves working directly with students in a school-based setting, adhering to a school-year schedule with flexible, part-time hours that may increase based on district needs. The OT will be part of a collaborative team, working alongside educators, ESE staff, SLPs, families, and other professionals to help children develop essential skills for school participation and success. Requirements

Master's or entry-level doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
Knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor development, and developmental needs.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Reliable, professional, and compassionate.
Enjoys working with children and collaborating with school teams.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy services to students in assigned schools.
Evaluate students' functional, developmental, sensory, fine motor, and other occupational therapy needs.
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment strategies.
Address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, self-care, and functional participation.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, families, SLPs, and other professionals.
Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team meetings as required.
Provide education and recommendations to support students across the school environment.
