About The Position

Liberty POST is seeking motivated and energetic Early Childhood Occupational Therapists (OT) for part-time and/or full-time employment to work with children aged birth to 5 years old through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Immediate positions are available in Hauppauge and throughout Long Island. Liberty POST has provided high-quality, individualized services since 1994, backed by Liberty Resources Inc. As part of a large social services network, POST has grown from its origins as a speech-language practice to offer a range of services across New York State and Indiana. We employ over 500 professionals and utilize a collaborative team approach, focusing on child-directed play for evaluation, direct therapy, and family education. Our philosophy emphasizes the importance of a child's natural learning environment, a family's strengths and needs, and the diverse populations we serve.

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of New York required.
  • Knowledge of New York State laws/regulations in regard to Occupational Therapy.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children is preferred.
  • Experience in sensory integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and track child's progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly using our Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Conduct Occupational Therapy sessions for children with various diagnoses (e.g., ASD, sensory issues, fine motor delay, etc.).
  • Provide center-based and/or home care services.
  • Effectively organize and maintain confidentiality of child's records and other documentation.
  • Follow all state laws and regulations as they pertain to Early Intervention, CPSE/CSE special education.
