Occupational Therapist-Full Time (Outpatient)
About The Position
Midlands Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist for its outpatient opportunity in Elgin, South Carolina. The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and helps them improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities. They also teach patients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments when they have a permanent loss of function, and may help patients select appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Patients may have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling. The therapist integrates the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice.
Requirements
- Graduate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Current state Occupational Therapist license.
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
- Competency in providing care according to established standards.
- Ability to apply age-specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines when caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
- Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
- Passion for patient care and ability to collaborate as a team member and motivate patients.
