Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits. This role involves assessing a patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills, designing and implementing appropriate treatment plans, and continuously monitoring and modifying the plan of care as needed. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for documenting patient progress, seeking consultation when necessary, and educating patients and their families/caregivers about patient deficits. Additionally, the position includes planning and assisting with patient discharge from therapy services, providing information on adaptive equipment and support programs, and overseeing care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards. The therapist is expected to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
