A leader in acute inpatient rehabilitation on Long Island, St. Charles Campus provides specialized care for patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic injuries. Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation is looking for an Occupational Therapist to work in our outpatient pediatric rehabilitation program. Our outpatient pediatric rehab clinic sees children from birth to adolescence in a multidisciplinary program. An Occupational Therapist (OT) helps patients develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and independence following illness, injury, surgery, or disability.

Requirements

NY State Occupational Therapy License and registration.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Pediatric rehabilitation experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Evaluates and treats physician-referred patients by organizing and conducting occupational therapy programs.
Facilitates rehabilitation of the mentally or physically handicapped.
Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
Facilitates the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, and promotes and maintains health.
