About The Position

Occupational Therapist (OT) – Home Health Visits Part-Time or Full-Time Essex County, NJ Flexible Schedule | Competitive Pay | Adult & Geriatric Population BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Essex County Visits team based in Livingston, NJ. This part-time or full-time opportunity offers the flexibility to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle while providing one-on-one care to adult and geriatric clients throughout Essex County. As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, you'll help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life by delivering individualized therapy in the comfort of their homes. You'll collaborate with a supportive interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Current New Jersey Occupational Therapist (OT) license.
  • Minimum of one year of recent Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior home health experience preferred but not required.
  • Electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services through home visits within designated territories.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities, including strength, endurance, coordination, cognition, communication, and activities of daily living (ADLs and IADLs).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to maximize independence, safety, and functional outcomes.
  • Assess home environments for safety concerns and recommend modifications or adaptive equipment to support independent living.
  • Identify and recommend assistive devices and environmental adaptations to improve patient function and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on therapeutic techniques and strategies to promote safety and independence.
  • Continuously assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Accurately document evaluations, interventions, and patient progress using electronic medical records and tablet technology.
