About The Position
Visiting Nurse Health System (Visiting Nurse) is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) who is a skilled professional, as well as a calm, compassionate, and empathetic presence. This role involves educating and managing appropriate therapy for patients, aligning with Visiting Nurse's values of Respect and Integrity, Excellence, Stewardship, and Care. The ideal candidate views Occupational Therapy as a calling, understands the importance of patient care, and ensures every patient is treated with dignity, comfort, and care. This individual should be available to work Monday through Friday with a flexible work schedule. The corporate office is located in Dunwoody, GA 30346. Visiting Nurse has been serving the Atlanta Area for over 77 years and is a leading provider of home healthcare, long-term care at home, hospice, and palliative care services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- 2 or more years of experience as a full-time OT
- Current GA OT License
- Must have a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance

- Home Health experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care, patient education, and management of applicable therapy (physical, occupational, or speech) as outlined in the patient’s treatment plan.
- Consult with and educate other care team members regarding applicable patient assessment and treatment protocols.
- Serve as a rehabilitation resource for the care team.
- Evaluate patient response to therapy services, assess ongoing service needs, arrange for additional therapy services required, and obtain physician orders for such services.
- Ensure clinical record documentation demonstrates compliance with physician orders for care provided and the frequency of visits.
- Ensure clinical documentation and Oasis time points are complete, accurate, and submitted with an error rate of less than 20%.
- Serve as a preceptor to others when needed or requested.
