About The Position

This Occupational Therapist (OT) position involves working across various acute care units at Regions Hospital, adapting to areas of highest need based on patient volume. The role encompasses all sections of a Level 1 Trauma hospital, including the Emergency Department (ED) and boarding areas, observation units, medical and neuro Intensive Care Units (ICUs), and medical-surgical, neuro, and trauma units, as well as inpatient rehabilitation. The position requires strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability to a fast-paced and complex environment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, as collaboration within a treatment team is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed in MN as an Occupational Therapist
  • Registration with the Minnesota State Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist
  • Current certification with the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy within 6 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a relevant setting.
  • Evaluation and treatment knowledge in stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and complex medical/trauma.
  • Experience in similar settings/diagnosis.
  • Advanced certification and/or licensure to support position.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a variety of areas of Regions Hospital acute care units, based on volume and/or area of highest need.
  • Provide occupational therapy services in areas including ED/boarding, observation units, medical and neuro ICUs, med surg, neuro and trauma units, and inpatient rehab.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team.
  • Create home education programs for patients.
  • Participate in ongoing informal mentoring and support within the OT team.
