About The Position

Covenant Care is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their mission-driven organization. The OT will report to the Resident Care Manager and will provide leadership and support for occupational staff. The role involves planning, implementing, and delivering goal-oriented treatments, programs, and services to enhance residents' functional skills. Requirements

  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all resident, family, and staff information.
  • Ability to communicate in all forms (reading, writing, clear verbal articulation and active listening) to implement recommendations and develop plans and procedures in accordance with Covenant Care’s protocol and with applicable legislation.
  • Mathematical skills as well as the ability to read and analyze reports and data.
  • Confident in performing AADL assessments, seating assessments, motorized wheelchair assessments, and MoCA cognitive assessments.
  • Certificate of registration with the Alberta Association of Registered Occupational Therapist required.
  • Basic Rescuer CPR required.
  • AADL authorization required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Capable of performing AADL assessments.
  • Capable of performing seating assessments.
  • Capable of performing motorized wheelchair assessments.
  • Capable of performing MoCA cognitive assessments.
  • Capable of working independently as well as working within a team environment.
  • Must be vaccinated against all required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy.
  • Must provide a criminal record check not older than 3 months ahead of your commencement date.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in physical medicine and/or geriatrics specialties preferred.
