About The Position

Lifemark is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for their 64th Avenue clinic in Langley, British Columbia. This multidisciplinary rehabilitation center specializes in a Post Concussion Management Program/Early Concussion Assessment and Treatment Program. The OT will assess and treat clients with persistent symptoms following concussions, working within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and return to work and daily function. Opportunities also exist in FCEs, Community OT services, and Veterans Rehabilitation services. The role involves providing comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services, including assessments, interventions, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, and first responders. Responsibilities include performing clinical evaluations, identifying equipment needs, consulting with vendors, providing education on various topics, evaluating restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention, and maintaining client records.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
Clinical experience is a valuable asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics/or return to work.
Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

Experienced as an Occupational Therapist with Concussion management training is an asset.
A valid driver's License and a reliable vehicle are a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients
Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients
Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments
Identification of appropriate equipment needs with the initiation of recommendations
Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to the Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties
Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides, as well as providing ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safety
Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
