About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their multidisciplinary team at the Baylor Grapevine Day Neuro program. This program focuses on helping patients with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries achieve maximum independence and reintegrate into the community. Patients in this program often have multi-system comorbidities affecting mobility, balance, coordination, strength, endurance, tone, spasticity, and postural stability, as well as cognitive-communication and swallowing impairments that impact daily activities. Patients receive up to six hours of comprehensive, team-based therapy per day, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
  • Experience with TBI, SCI, and CVA preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Creative, innovative, and adaptable approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Help patients achieve their highest level of independence and reintegrate into the community.
  • Address neuromuscular impairments impacting mobility, balance, coordination, and gait.
  • Manage reduced strength, endurance, tone, spasticity, and postural instability.
  • Address swallowing disorders and cognitive-communication impairments.
  • Facilitate patient participation in up to six hours of therapy per day.
