About The Position

The Occupational Therapist delivers occupational therapy services in alignment with occupational therapy principles and practices and Reliant Rehabilitation’s standards. The role includes screening and evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, discharge planning, supervising assistants and rehabilitation technicians, and case management. The therapist builds positive relationships with clients and facilities while providing high-quality care, upholding professional conduct, and complying with applicable state and federal regulations. The Occupational Therapist enhances patients’ functional abilities through direct care, oversight, and coordination of services; provides clinical supervision and consultation to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs); and contributes to the growth and sustainability of the occupational therapy program. The role also requires maintaining professional competencies, applying relevant billing models and treatment guidelines, and following infection-control and environmental-safety protocols.

Requirements

Graduated from an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.
Holds a current and valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for effective communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

Screen and evaluate patients; develop and implement treatment plans; conduct discharge planning and case management.
Enhance patients’ functional abilities through direct provision, oversight, and coordination of occupational therapy services.
Provide clinical supervision and consultation to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
Supervise COTAs and Rehab Technicians during individual and group therapy sessions, supporting effective resource utilization and skill development in accordance with State Practice Acts, OBRA, and company policies.
Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the occupational therapy program.
Advance clinical and professional competencies through collaboration, self-directed learning, and continuing education.
Maintain a valid state license and stay informed about developments in occupational therapy and healthcare.
Apply knowledge of relevant billing models and treatment guidelines to provide care that meets clinical standards and achieves appropriate goals and outcomes.
Follow infection-control and environmental-safety protocols within the facility.
Communicate and document effectively in English.
Foster positive relationships with clients and facilities and uphold professional conduct in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
