About The Position

The Occupational Therapist will provide direct patient care and documentation for patients of all ages, birth through geriatric, to enhance physical health and functional abilities. The Occupational Therapist will also carry out other operational duties for the Rehabilitation Department as indicated and provide physical therapy to outreach sites as indicated. Provide direct patient care as prescribed within standard practice guidelines and in full compliance with established Occupational Therapy protocols.

Requirements

• Experience with computerized health information systems is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office and Windows, basic computer skills and knowledge, or ability to understand EMR systems.
• Ability to adapt to frequent interruptions.
• Ability to identify and prioritize duties.
• Ability to work under stress and concentrate on critical tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to display a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations.
• Ability to demonstrate a professional attitude in all situations.
• Ability to see the patient as a unique individual, rather than a task to complete.
• A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, from an accredited college or university, is required.
• Ability to obtain licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist through South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.
• Current BLS certificate
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers and all levels of staff.
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of EPIC is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
