About The Position

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. Every day you will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients. To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player. Patient-Centered Care & Professional Relationships: Aligns with St. Alexius Health's mission, vision, and philosophies. Develops and maintains positive relationships with patients, colleagues, support staff, physicians, and other departments Occupational Therapy Service Delivery: Provides occupational therapy to diverse age groups, employing age and disability-appropriate communication, evaluation, and treatment strategies. This includes evaluating, recording, and reporting patient conditions and responses to therapy Documentation & Reimbursement Accuracy: Ensures accurate charging reflecting time and services provided. Effectively documents for quality of care and successful reimbursement of services Workload Management & Productivity: Organizes and plans their caseload, increases output as demand requires, meets departmental productivity expectations, demonstrates high initiative, and manages time effectively Team Collaboration & Professional Development: Actively participates in patient care activities, program development, special projects, and supervises students. Additionally, completes clinical competencies, presents education/in-services, and assists in writing competencies Safety & Compliance: Demonstrates thorough and ongoing knowledge of hospital-wide and department-specific safety practices, including completing mandatory safety training

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by NBCOT and NDOTA
