About The Position

Sentara Therapy Center - Coliseum in Hampton is hiring a Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) to work a 14-week assignment! This is a temporary full-time position with a day shift schedule, requiring 40 hours per week. The role involves providing age-appropriate education to clients and caregivers, supervising team members, performing therapeutic interventions, and initiating collaborative interactions to improve patient outcomes. The OT will also select and perform appropriate assessment procedures and establish/update formal plans of care. For specific programs like PACE and Resource Pool, at least one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population is required.

Requirements

  • Must possess State License and NBCOT Certification.
  • Valid NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist - Certifications - National Board Certification In Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and license required in state of practice.
  • State License and NBCOT Certification.
  • BLD – Bachelor’s Level Degree – Occupational Therapy
  • Occupational Therapist License (OT) – Virginia
  • NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist - Certifications - National Board Certification In Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • For PACE and Resource Pool, incumbents must have at least one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.

Responsibilities

  • Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
  • Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
  • Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes.
  • Productive and efficient in daily operations.
  • Selects and performs the appropriate assessment procedures.
  • Establishes and updates formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.
