The Occupational Therapist has the responsibility to evaluate, establish a plan of care, and treat patients referred within PM&R. This role involves applying the theory of Occupational Therapy under the bylaws of the Texas State Practice Act and the AOTA Code of Ethics. The position requires close interaction with physicians, nurses, patients, professional staff, and support personnel, with the flexibility to schedule around these services and organize time efficiently to treat the maximum number of patients. The therapist is also expected to assist co-workers with patient load conflicts or cancellations.
