About The Position

The Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs to help patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. This role supports participants in achieving optimal independence, safety, and quality of life through therapeutic interventions aligned with interdisciplinary care plans. PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 163 PACE programs, serving more than 72,000 participants in 32 states. The number of people aged 55+ is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.
  • 1 years' experience working with elderly population required.
  • Currently registered as an occupational therapist by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and licensed in the State of Colorado and maintained throughout employment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and patient education skills
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and adaptive equipment
  • Team collaboration and time management skills
  • Adequate computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and EHR
  • Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
